Meet the team

At the helm is triple national (Springbok) watersports man, Derrick Levy. As a thirty-nine year industry veteran, Derrick’s years of experience gives Boating World the leading edge in matching clients with the boats of their dreams.
Representing South Africa in Ski Racing (competing in all major international tournaments) and winning the Italian Grand Prix on

Lake Como, he has also represented the country in Barefoot Skiing and Boat Racing. He is a qualified skipper for motor yachts and boats under one hundred tons, invaluable as a retailer and broker of new and pre-owned motor yachts and mid-size cruisers. His specialised boating knowledge and expertise ensures the best possible advice for any prospective buyer.

Co-owner and manager Suzanne Glock, is a qualified Certified Public Accountant and business management specialist. Suzanne controls the group’s financials, the importing and pricing of agencies while

overseeing the busy staff network. Working in the boating industry for thirteen years has more than equipped her for this demanding position.

Zane Dresner is Sales Manager at Boating World. He is well versed in a host of water sport activities having spent most weekends boating and skiing while growing up. Zane’s experience includes bass fishing, flyfishing, sailing ( hobie's ) Scuba Diving ( NAUI Nitrox Instructor) and he worked in the dive industry for four years. He opened and ran Underwater World in Pietermaritzburg and then moved into boat sales.

His knowledge and enthusiasm will delight every customer. Since joining the company he has already sold and marketed several motor and sailing yachts.

Greg Alice is a sales consultant Boating World’s marina office. As a student he worked at different boating outlets (including Boating World) gaining invaluable experience in the workshop and in boat sales. He also worked at boat shows in Durban, Johannesburg, CapeTown.

A four-month stint working in Australia (and at the Sanctuary Cove Boat Show) earlier this year added greatly to his knowledge and expertise. He also visited the Riviera factory on the Gold Coast. Greg’s enthusiasm for boating in all its forms will be of great benefit to Boating World’s new and existing clients.

Mike Wade in Cape Town is renowned for his technical and sales back-up and he has a following of delighted boat owners who refer to him time and again when it comes to upgrading or

reinvesting. His attention-to-detail has paid off and there is not much that escapes him in the world of boat maintenance, engineering and sales.

Cathi Warriner runs the marketing department. Advertising, press releases, media liaison, design and web page management all fall under her care. As a journalist she has worked in newspapers in

Johannesburg and Durban and writing for boating and general magazines countrywide. She has worked in the boating industry in PR/advertising for over 20 years.

Jessica-Lynn Muller is the friendly voice on the boating World reception and heads up the Charter and Customer enquiry department. Jessica grew up in the Cape having spent years in Oudtshoorn and Mossel-Bay. Trainee nursing much too sedentary for this outdoor adventure.

After a year Jessica embarked on a series of courses for working in the boating industry. She successfully completed her STCW’95 and stewardess certificates. Jessica’s friendly outlook, attention-to-detail and congenial manner with clients standing her in good stead.
