 Boat was a top Philippe Briand IOR design built for the French Admirals Cup team in collaboration with Chris O' Nial, an International expert in making boats out of composite materials ( fiberglass, carbon fibre and Nomex) - way ahead of its time
It was built by Beneteau in their customs race section.Launched 9 April 1987
International Race results ; Best French Admirals Cupper in 1987 & 1988; 10th Fastnet Race 1987 ; 1st Niolargue 1987; 1st Spi Ouest France; 1st La Rochelle Week; Best French boat at Sardinia Cup.

Purchased by Andrew Louw in 1989 and skippered by Jan Reuvers from then till 1992 ; with numerous achievements; 1st Agulhas Race 1990; 1st Double Cape 1990; 1st Mykonnos Race 1991; and many more;
Boat was mothballed in 95  and spent 13  years in a shed in Blackheath.

Boat was given to a team of ex sailors
Original plan was to repaint touch up soft spots , fit new engine and go sailing.
As time went by the renovation / restoration project grew into a full on rebuild.

Eventually only the hull and rudder remained the same , new carbon mast 750mm shorter & carbon boom, new interior and keel tranverse floor and girders structure; new keel, mast moved aft to increase the J measurement, new engine and instruments.

Project lasted about 2 years, a basic interior was fitted, but it appears that this has not favoured the hull factor much and we may have to add more interior modules

Du Toit Yacht Design was commissioned to do all the Naval Architectural designs and modifications.
new GP42 Carbom mast, Carbon Boom and spin pole, new Yanmar engine , full Harken kit, membrane sails and Garmin instruments
Weight after extensive refit 7.3tons, was over 10ton before refit
Latest IRC rating 1.107 see attached sail plan in Broucher section
