FISHING IN KENYA OFF A RIVIERA, OUR CLIENTS EXPERIENCE AT "THE FRIENDS OF KENYA COMPETITION"

13 Mar 2014

We are in Kenya ---Watamu with Combava, our Riviera 3350. We took part in The Friends of Kenya competition----tagged 2x sailfish , 2x blue marlins and had to boat one blue marlin as it was damaged in the gills----it weighed 345lb and was caught by my brother Rhino.

We are heading back to Pemba island this afternoon, so will broadbill through the night and then spend tomorrow fishing for marlin in the rips of the northern tip of Pemba island.

The boat handled extremely well for such a long and busy trip we are very pleased and got good comments from the guests we took with us.

We returned from Kenya this morning. Had a very good trip up to Kenya and did very well in the competition considering it was our first time and the only boat from Tanzania to enter the “friends of Kenya” billfish comp. We came 3rd  but could not fish for broadbill at night as we had to boat the 345lb. blue on the first day as it died on us and we did not want to waste it.

We went back and donated it to charity and only went out again the next morning.

We managed to tag another two blue marlin and two sailfish our guests were exceptionally happy.
