BOATING WORLD CELEBRATES THE SALE OF RIVIERA 37 AT DURBAN BOAT SHOW

13 Aug 2015

The Durban Boat Show was a huge success for Boating World this year.  Not only did they win the Best Outdoor Stand for 2015 but a Riviera 37 Sport Fisher was sold on the very first day!

The whole team worked together for a quite few days before the show – getting boats moved from their various moorings to their well-known corner show spot on the water. It was all hands on deck as the two Riviera’s (a 37 and a 41-footer) and a Jeanneau sailboat – were securely tied up before the attention turned to their appearance.

Cleaners worked feverishly to get them sparkling clean, probing every nook and cranny and shining the stainless steel till it gleamed. Then the team got busy with the décor, transforming each craft into hard-to-resist masterpieces.

Their hard work was finally rewarded at the exhibitor’s breakfast on the Saturday morning and they were absolutely delighted with their win!

From the minute the gates opened - Big Game fisherman and yachties were queuing for a closer look at Boating World’s exhibits. The beautifully kitted out crew was ready to welcome visitors on board and serious negotiations were soon underway.

Wayne and Jenny Barthus of the Durban Office spent quality time with several interested clients and were delighted to sign up the new Riviera 37 owners – that afternoon.

These ‘virgin’ boaters are looking forward to spending time with their family on board this 40-footer with twin Diesel Volvo 370hp motors. She has plenty of room for all their friends who will no doubt want to come along to enjoy the ride and of course…. the fishing!

Visitors also had the chance to view the luxurious and fully kitted Riviera 40 Sport Fisher and the sailing fraternity appreciated the Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 379 alongside.

Boating World had their VIP office stationed at Point Yacht Club overlooking the water – giving a birds-eye view of the action below. Guests enjoyed catching up with Derrick and Suzanne and the latest run-down on what’s available on the books.

Now that summer’s on the horizon there are lots of boating shows to look forward to:
