BOATING WORLD WELCOMES NEW CAPE TOWN AFTER SALES REPRESENTATIVE NIC STRYDOM

18 Nov 2015

Boating World welcomes sales consultant Nic Strydom to the team!

While he is largely in charge of after-sales service, Nic will also become a familiar face to big boaters investing in luxury motor yachts and sailing vessels!

This true “Kaapenaar” was born in George but spent his primary school years in Oudtshoorn in the Klein Karoo – before moving on to Outeniqua High School where he matriculated in 2009.

An avid outdoor lover, he then spent a year “in the bush” attending a field guiding course in the Hluhluwe area in KZN.  “This was an incredible opportunity to get to know some of the people living in more rural parts of South Africa (without access to electricity or running water) and also to get in touch with nature.” He said.

He then enrolled for a B Comm Business Management degree, which he completed in 2014. During his years of studying Nic also worked part time for his father as a project manager, managing a group of builders.

After completing his degree he worked at his parent’s insurance brokerage for about six months before moving to Cape Town to look for new opportunities. It was not long before his love for the ocean turned into a career path. Completing a sailing course evolved into working for a yacht management company at the V&A Waterfront looking after boats moored at the Cape Grace marina.

This led to an introduction to the Boating World team and the chance to represent the company at the Cape Boat Show this year.

Nic’s natural enthusiasm, excellent work ethic and passion for boating will undoubtedly be a huge asset to Boating World and our clients.
