BOATING WORLD TAKES YOU ON A SEA CRUISE ON BOARD A 42' AT CLIFTON SOUTH AFRICA!

12 May 2011

If you are lucky enough to live at the coast, you’ll be familiar with those balmy autumn days which hold the promise of magical evenings – and where better to enjoy them than on-the-water off Cape Town?

Boating World’s Derrick, Suzanne and Greg are always on the lookout for opportunities to head out to sea in a beautiful cruiser – especially when it’s “one of those days”!!

Having a guest to entertain is another perfect reason for a trip and it didn’t take much persuasion for Lowrance SA’s Silan Naicker (down from Durban on a dealer visit) to join them on a spontaneous sunset cruise – early in April.

Setting off at around 4pm in a luxurious 42 Ft - the party was not expecting the spectacle nature had in store. While cruising in beautiful calm waters they suddenly happened upon a huge pod of dolphins which mysteriously appeared and to their delight staged a show for their benefit.

What a sight it was to see hundreds of these majestic creatures together – some gracefully surfing the waters alongside them only to disappear from view and then to burst free in a spectacular series of breaks and dives.

After a long time enjoying this unexpected display, they arrived at their favourite spot off Clifton Beach where they dropped anchor -joining several other boaters who also took to the water to enjoy the sunset. They were able to go through all the features on the magnificent Sealine 42 whilst anchored.

And few could find a better setting than this in which to enjoy a magnificent evening with a good bottle of wine and a plate of sushi to share among friends.

Once the sun disappeared Derrick and his crew made their way back to Granger Bay and as always were awestruck by Cape Town’s beauty at night with lights twinkling under the majestic Table Mountain.
