Azimut Verve 47 sold by Boating world, an exhilarating new boat on Knysna’s lagoon

Outboard powered, quadruple-engined and aggressively styled. The arrival of the new Azimut Verve 47 thrills onlookers in Knysna and along the Cape Garden Route coastline.
Boating World has concluded the sale and delivery of its first supercharged dayboat from Azimut Yachts - the Verve 47. The new boat was shipped into Cape Town in November 2021 and was delivered to a private owner residing in Knysna in the Western Cape soon after.
Boating World founder and owner Derrick Levy said the arrival of the Azimut Verve 47 marked another milestone for Boating World which has been selling luxury yachts to African clients from across the continent for 22 years.
“Having a boat of this pedigree in the Garden Route will hopefully influence more investment into the luxury yachting lifestyle and continue to build on the leisure boating culture in the region and beyond,” Levy said.
Powered by four Mercury Racing 450R V8 outboards, delivering a top speed of over 50 knots and a cruising speed of 37 knots. The Verve 47’s design is the mastery of Michael Peters, the world’s leading designer of high performance powerboats with stepped hulls, complimented by Francesco Struglia for the exterior and interiors to bring the Italian sophistication, imprinted in the DNA of all Azimut Yachts.
Complete with two luxurious cabins and host of other innovations, including a Seakeeper Gyro Stabiliser to virtually eliminate any boat roll, this new Verve 47 is absolutely unique in the world of outboards.
It was custom built at the Azimut shipyard in Italy to the owners specifications, taking six months to complete. During which time the Boating World team visited the yard to view the build process and oversee the boats water survey before being shipped to South Africa.
On arrival in Knysna, Boating World was supported by Brunswick Mercury Marine SA for local water tests, where the Verve 47 proved its excellent performance through the Knysna Heads with extraordinary directional stability and high speed precision, ready for final handover to the owner.
