Boating World returns to the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival

05 Sep 2022

Boating World returns to the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival for the first European Boat Show of the year, where a fleet of around 700 sailing yachts, motor yachts and tenders will line-up at the legendary festival between 6th – 11th September.

This year sees exciting highlights for Boating World’s yacht brands, Azimut, Fountaine Pajot and Jeanneau, as each shipyard continues its pursuit of excellence in innovating the worlds most desired yachting experiences for owners.

Azimut will debut three custom built superyachts at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival; the Magellano 30M, New Grande 36M and New Grande 26M. The three novelties have been brought to life by the extraordinary combined talents of naval architects and interior designers Ken Freivokh, Vincenzo De Cotiis, Alberto Mancini and Achille Salvagni. Each yachts low emission superstructure, made possible through the technical know-how of the Azimut | Benetti Group.

As a group, Azimut | Benetti invests heavily in R&D to take the lead in significantly lowering fuel consumption and CO2 emissions in its range. This is achieved through the development of highly efficient hulls, innovative propulsions systems and the extensive use of carbon fibre to decrease yacht weights and evolve eco-yachting. The winning combination of the best in Italian design and year-on-year record-breaking sales, maintains the groups reputation as the world’s number one yacht builder, a title which it has held for a remarkable 22 years.

Fountaine Pajot world premieres for the 2022 Cannes Yachting Festival include the Aura 51 Smart Electric Catamaran and the new Power 67 Catamaran Motor Yacht.

The announcement of the Aura 51 late last year saw 150 catamarans being sold off-plan before construction had even begun, an extraordinary feat in itself for the French shipyard.

The Aura 51 that the public will discover at this year’s Cannes Yachting Festival sees the launch of the first electrically powered Fountaine Pajot, a permanent feature for the Aura 51 Sailing Catamaran.

Fountaine Pajot is committed to an environmental transition in the yachting industry and aims to continue to create low-carbon and ideally net-carbon cruising boats by 2030.

The new Fountaine Pajot Power 67 Catamaran Motor Yacht is another must see at this year’s event. Designed for long range cruising and expansive entertaining, this new flagship in Fountaine Pajot’s Power Motor Yacht range has been praised by the international press for its elegance and the comfortable autonomy it can deliver for over 1,700 NM.

Jeanneau returns to 2022’s Cannes Yachting Festival with a new flagship sailing boat from architect and design duo, Philippe Briand and Andrew Winch. The Jeanneau 65 makes its European debut and is an opportunity for prospective buyers to sea trial its nautical capabilities. Entering the world of Premium Day Boats is Jeanneau’s new DB line, which will also debut in the French Rivera this month. The DB/43 is designed by Camillo Garroni and comes as outboard or inboard option, with all the luxuries you would want from a weekender cruiser.

Jeanneau will also launch a new 41ft Flybridge flagship in Cannes, the Merry Fisher 1295 Fly is expected to delight boat buyers looking for larger outboard motor yachts.

The Cannes Yachting Festival is a must attend event in the annual boating calendar. Boating World’s presence at the event gives our team the opportunity to entertain clients within the two sites, Vieux Port and Porto Canto, and immerse prospective buyers with a full yachting experience. These include onboard sessions with our brands and sea trials that take place throughout the festival.
