Boating World welcomes a luxurious new Azimut Yacht to Cape Town, with serious wow factor

05 Jul 2023

When it comes to luxury yachts, Azimut Yachts is a name that stands out above the rest. So, it’s no surprize that the arrival of Cape Town’s first Azimut Fly 60 has been creating an impressive visual stir at the V&A Waterfront marina.

A true marvel of engineering and design, combining elegance, performance, and functionality in perfect harmony. The Azimut Fly 60 has been imported into South Africa by Boating World and sold into a co-ownership partnership.

“Bringing together the right mix of partners was no easy feat.” shared Boating World’s co-owner Derrick Levy, who arranged the investment opportunity and oversaw the construction of the yacht that was built at Azimut Yachts Viareggio shipyard in Italy.

“We look for likeminded clients who share common goals and interests for their boating lifestyle. For the Azimut Fly 60, it is a portable asset that offers enjoyable luxury with every need catered for from the moment owners and their guests embark.” Levy continues. “We opted for V&A Waterfront as the home berth for Azimut Fly 60 as it offers owners 24-hour access to their yachts, in a world class setting both from a privacy and security perspective.”

The initial construction process of the joint venture was impacted by delays due to Covid 19, but once construction was completed in April this year, the yacht was shipped to Cape Town for sea trials and final pre-delivery, before being presented to her owners in May 2023.

“Aptly named Endless Summer, everything about this yacht resonates to a carefree well-being and the crew are doing a terrific job in ensuring that every lifestyle comfort is met.” Says Suzanne Levy, co-owner of Boating World who is responsible for the yachts management.

What makes the Azimut Fly 60 such a unique yacht for South African shores?

The exterior design of the Azimut Fly 60 is a testament to Azimut's commitment to sleek and contemporary aesthetics. The yacht's sleek lines, bold angles, and large windows create an impressive visual impact while maximizing natural light inside the living spaces. The flybridge, a signature feature of the yacht, offers a spacious outdoor area for relaxation and entertainment. Equipped with a wet bar, comfortable seating, and a sunbathing area, it is the perfect place to soak up the sun and enjoy breath-taking views while cruising.

Step inside, and you'll be greeted by an interior that exudes elegance and sophistication. The Azimut Fly 60 features a carefully crafted layout that optimizes space and ensures a seamless flow between different areas. The main deck boasts a spacious salon with large panoramic windows that provide stunning views of the surrounding seascape. Accommodations on the Azimut Fly 60 are nothing short of luxurious. The yacht offers three beautifully appointed cabins, including a full-beam master suite, a VIP cabin, and a twin cabin, each with its own en-suite bathroom. The master suite, located amidships, is a haven of comfort and relaxation, featuring large windows on both sides, a vanity area, and ample storage space.

Performance-wise, the Azimut Fly 60 is a force to be reckoned with. Powered by twin Volvo Penta D13 engines, this yacht offers impressive speed and manoeuvrability. Whether cruising at a leisurely pace or reaching thrilling top speeds, the Fly 60 delivers a smooth and stable ride, thanks to its advanced hull design and the cutting-edge technology of its Seakeeper Gyro stabiliser.
