Boating World’s Derrick and Suzanne Levy had an exciting visit to France recently where they had a wonderful time attending the Cannes Boat Show.
Derrick says the sheer size of the Cannes Boat Show blows one’s mind – and it was great to see Rivera’s prominently displayed among the awesome number of luxury boats on show.
Two stunning new Riviera launches included the Riviera 43 and 53 Sport Fishers which simply took their breath away with their elegance and new features.
He says the new Riviera 43 Open Flybridge IPS model has enormous cockpit space for more anglers and she’s more open-plan for easy communication between those in the cockpit and the saloon. A new seat has been fitted inside the cockpit just behind the enlarged bulkhead window – a great place to relax after a hard day’s fishing.
“We have just sold our first Riviera 43 which is destined for the Seychelles and we were able to have a good first-hand viewing of this magnificent anglers dream boat,” Derrick adds.
The factory has nicknamed the impressively finished Riviera 53 the “spaceship” as she is massively spacious and completely luxurious.
Only the highest quality cabinetry, upholstery and fittings have been used throughout this 57-footer. And Derrick says she will easily handle our harsh South African coastline and the fuel economy is exceptional.”
On to the UK - Derrick and Suzanne attended the Fairline Dealer meeting where they caught up with dealers from around the world followed by the Southampton Boat Show. Fairline had a dazzling display of cruisers on show including the new Targa 58, Squadron 65, the upgraded flybridge on the Squadron 78 and the new Targa 38 hardtop version.
Derrick says the Targa 50 and 58 and the Squadron 60 and 65 Fairline’s, have windows that open electronically, loads of space with easily accessible spacious cabins which is most surprising on non-flybridge models. “These are very sexy, sport- looking boats which are so much more impressive than their stunning pictures depict.” He adds.
