She’s here! The long-awaited new 2012 Fairline Squadron 42 has just arrived in Cape Town and this unique flybridge motor yacht is absolutely everything one could imagine. And those who attended a private viewing at the One & Only recently couldn’t agree more.

What a stunning sight she was from the deck of the hotel, resplendent on her mooring and passers-by couldn’t help but stop and admire her.   As the day drew to a close, jelly fish congregated around the powerful underwater lights and the reflection of the blue mood lights twinkling in the water added a mysterious glow – attracting even more attention.

The naming ceremony took place a few days later where her proud owners named her “Jo-Bes” – and boaters will soon spot her cruising up and down the coast or at rest on her moorings.

Importer Derrick Levy of Boating World says the Squadron 42 is like a sports car on water and she certainly looks the part. Stylishly streamlined yet spacious, she’s also packed for action with explosive power from two Volvo Penta D6 370HP motors.

The Owner, family and friends aboard her maiden voyage said she handled beautifully and 11 people were comfortably accommodated. The huge flybridge is the perfect place for entertaining a crowd of guests and dual controls mean the pilot can also join in the fun outside.

For those who prefer to be closer to the action on the water – it’s a simple trip down the broad, teak staircase to the huge cockpit where seating which converts into a unique, lounger with a simple but innovative reversing backrest. This superb feature means one can either face forward (while leaning back comfortably) to chat with those in the saloon or face aft to see what’s going on behind.

Twin transom gates on either side of the cockpit allow easy access to an ingeniously concealed, cantilevered tender launching system. The platform can hold Williams 285 Jet RIB and this is easily lifted aft and down to the water.

The sumptuous interior includes two fabulous cabins with bathrooms en-suite to comfortably sleep 4 - 6 people. The Fairline Squadron 42 is perfect for day jaunts or for a whole weekend – a piece of heaven on the water. And there’s so much more - so call Derrick on 082 881 2607 for further information.
