It’s Marlin Season and this means one thing only – fishing, fishing and more fishing. But as every self-respecting fisherman knows, it takes the right kind of rig to meet the rigours of Sport Fishing.

Boating World in Durban have the perfect outfit available for the perfect Billfish experience and manager Zane Dresner is more than happy to show off the Grady White during Boating World’s demo week at the company’s on-water premises at Durban Marina at the Yacht Mole (21st – 26th November).

Enthusiasts are invited to come and test this Big Game Fisher which has more than proved her mettle with 20 Billfish, including Black & Blue, Striped Marlin and Sail Fish caught over the years - there’s simply no stopping her. Kitted with the latest 175HP Suzuki motors, this sturdy monohull skiboat is fully rigged and ready to take on this season.

Already famous for winning the “Umhlanga Fishing Competition” and getting top load in the “Riviera Billfish Competition” it will be no surprise when more accolades come rolling in.

A closer look at her will reveal just why the Grady White has notched up her list of successes. First up her huge cockpit with comfortable fighting chair has immediate appeal and notable is the amount of space still available for the rest of the fishing party of five. And she’s a walkaround version, with encompassing stainless steel rails for safety which means added room for manouevring when the “big one” runs the line.

Two live-bait wells keep the Mackerel fresh and there’s plenty of storage space on board for those catches good for the eating. Lee outriggers, a rocket launcher and a Garmin 4010 fishfinder give maximum opportunity for hooking those coveted Billfish trophies. And when it’s time to celebrate, the champagne can be kept on ice in the coolbox.

Even if the weather turns foul, the fisherman can still fish on thanks to the hardtop and clears to protect the pilot. And when it’s all said and done the salt water deck wash will clear away any mess, rods can be safely stored in the interior rod storage racks and the cockpit, helm station and deck covers will protect this feisty fishing machine until her next adventure out at sea.

Also on display during Demo Week will be the Airberth C230 - designed to ensure you can enjoy the luxury of easy and effective mooring, no anti-fouling, getting your boat on and off the water with minimal hassle.
