LOWRANCE VISITS BOATING WORLD IN CAPE TOWN

10 May 2013

Lowrance South Africa’s Dealer Liaison in the Cape Ricky Moss and Technical Manager John Minnie who is based in Durban, recently visited several Cape Town dealers where John gave up-to-date technical advice, information and training on some of the exciting new units available.

As an increasing number of boats in the Mother City are being fitted with a wide range of different models,  accessories and workshop personnel were very interested in learning more about installations, technical fault-finding and maximizing their knowledge.

Of particular interest was the HDS-range (including the popular new Touchscreen options with advanced Downscan Imaging and Structure Scan features)– and John spent time ensuring dealers were technically well equipped for the benefit of existing and new clients.

His trip included visits to Boating World, Honda Marine Somerset West, Kalyn Marine, Boating International Cape, Seaport Supply, Manex Marine and others.

He also spent time helping specific customers to properly understand the units on their boats and how to use them effectively. This included an offshore trip to Cape Point with Steven Whitehead on his 23’ Butt Cat equipped with a Lowrance HDS-5x.

Around ‘The Canyon’ area Ricky threw out a line and in no time had caught a 35 kg Yellowfin Tuna. Unfortunately the sunny skies with calm water suddenly turned and misty conditions forced the party to turn back before anyone else could catch any fish.

On a more relaxing social note, John joined Boating World’s Derrick, Suzanne, Jessica and other guests for drinks and snacks at the popular Radisson Hotel.
