BOATING WORLD DELIVERS FAIRLINE IN ANGOLA

31 Oct 2013

The Boating World team spent a successful five days in Angola recently where they spent time with a new client and had a good look around the brand new Marina Baia, where more and more locals and tourists are enjoying the facilities.

Derrick, Greg and Mike recently flew into to a steamy hot Luanda to meet with the owner, his wife and staff of the newly-delivered Fairline Targa 38, for a series of training sessions on how to skillfully handle and get the most out of this fabulous craft.

Invaluable hours were spent familiarizing each person with all aspects of the boat from understanding the electronics, to safe skippering and the finer detail of the technical side.

On-water training took them passed the new marina which is chock-full of top-notch boating facilities including state-of-the-art jetties and an amazing travel lift (boat crane) with a 200-ton capacity!  A brand new hotel is currently under construction – the perfect destination for tourists and watersport lovers.

Then it was on to Mussulo Island, a narrow stretch of land which is the holiday playground of many local boat owners. Holiday homes abound on this exclusive spot with all sorts of boats from 20’ft bowriders parked on the beach outside to huge motor yachts moored in the water just offshore.

They found holiday resorts with all sorts of activities available and bars on the beach which are proving very popular. Boaters simply dock on the sand and drop in for refreshing drinks after a hard day having fun at sea!

Suitably tired after hours on the water, the team went back to relax at their  hotel in the bustling city - needless to say wisely leaving the driving to those familiar with Luanda’s hurly burly of traffic.
