WHATS IN STORE AT THE 2014 INTERNATIONAL LONDON BOAT SHOW

Ahoy boaters! The New Year starts off with an explosion of action and exciting exhibits to see at the annual Tullett Prebon London Boat Show Saturday 4th – 12th.  Thousands of pumped up watersport lovers are expected at the Excel site (right in the heart of the city) to inspect the latest and greatest boating wares for 2014.
Boating World’s Derrick Levy says this popular show - the first in the European boat show season – is well worth a visit. Several brand new models will make their debut including the Fairline Targa 48 GT.  Anyone interested in attending should contact Boating World. 
The whole of Excel London’s South Hall will be transformed into boater’s paradise - showcasing the latest in marine innovation, design and technology and spilling out to the dockside where more boats and attractions will be displayed on the water and in the Used Boats Marina. 
Visitors are able to see, touch and test all these products and receive face to face advice that cannot be matched. There’ll be a feast of boats and activities to suit all interests from the Starter Boat and dinghy areas, to small boats, power boats, sail boats, motoryachts and stunning super yachts. Of course there’ll be the designated spots for holiday destinations, boats for charter, marinas and sea schools and much more.
London-based manufacturer Fairline will be there in force showing off 10 of their luxury sports cruisers and motor yachts from their famous Targa and Squadron ranges. This year, the team is inviting Fairline owners and prospective customers to discover the future of Fairline in its beautifully crafted concept room which will display an exciting concept model and video projections.
Among Fairline’s awesome lineup is the stunning new launch, theTarga 48GT, the third model in its highly anticipated 48ft range which includes the Targa 48 OPEN and the Squadron 48.  Others  include the Targa 38 Open, 50 GT and 62 GT models, along with several breathtaking Squadrons including the 42, 65 and the 78 which will undoubtedly stop visitors in their tracks.
The highly anticipated Targa 48 GT offers new technology and exceptional engineering. The hull has been specifically designed for even more precise handling and in just one press of a button, the hardtop sweeps open flooding her with air and light. Apart from the luxuriously spacious entertainment areas there are three standard cabins with an optional lower saloon/dinette in lieu of the third cabin layout. Four to seven people can overnight in comfort.
Look out for the Targa 62 Sports Cruiser which was honoured with an award at the Cannes Boat Show last year for being the best laid out boat on show. Judges were hugely impressed with her striking good looks featuring a retractable roof creating a totally social al fresco environment. Her big attraction lies in the large, open cockpit that features a J-shaped seating and dining area sitting ahead of a luxuriously large sunpad. In addition the large bathing platform features a hydraulic hi-lo system - a first for the Targa range. 
If you don’t like being cooped up then the Fairline Targa 50GT is for you! Sweeping panoramic windows, a smooth-sliding roof open up the Targa 50GT flooding her with light and airiness and huge open-plan living areas with a well-positioned aft galley, create a great al fresco-style atmosphere. 
Visitors can also explore the 100th Squadron 78 CUSTOM one of Fairline’s most successful models which provides the ultimate in relaxing and entertaining on a grand scale. The huge and commanding flybridge, extensive saloon and upper deck areas can hold a crowd of family and friends. Six - 13 people can also spend the night in style in luxurious private accommodation.

The Watersports Pool – offers a range of activities from canoeing and kayacking to Stand Up Paddleboarding in free sessions. They even have rowing and kayacking simulators if you don’t want to get wet!
How about this for keeping dry and active!? If you are a dab hand at model boat racing you’ll enjoy the fleet of radio-controlled racing yachts which will compete against one another. 
Or perhaps you prefer the real thing and you can watch top sailors compete in exciting regattas in the dock, racing yachts with Fine Art Sails. See the winner of a nationwide competition for schoolchildren to design an art sail in aid of the Andrew Simpson Sailing Foundation, the Show’s official charity for 2014. 
Located at ExCeL, it couldn’t be easier to visit the Show. Visitors can travel by bike, car or DLR. Alternatively why not take in the views of London and access the Show via cable car spanning the river from Greenwich to the Royal Docks.
