14 Jan 2014

There’s still time to plan a trip to the boating capital of the world to attend one of the most prestigious boat shows of the year! The Miami International Boat Show takes place next month 13 - 17 February 2014 promising an eyeful of sensational sailing and motorized craft - along with loads of must-have accessories, electronics and services to spice up the experience.

Situated on the Intracoastal Waterway and Biscayne Bay, Miami is just a short sail away from the beautiful Florida Keys - the ideal spot for this show which spans an incredible 1.2million square feet.   Sprawling over three venues, show goers can view magnificent exhibits at the Miami Beach Convention Center, Miamarina at Bayside and the Sea Isle Marina and Yachting Center.

New boaters can meet the experts at the Discover Boating Center who will provide all the information needed to choose a new boat and will answer boating questions. Everyone will enjoy the seminars being run throughout the weekend covering a myriad of boating topics.

Australia’s Riviera (manufacturers of Sport Fishers and Cruisers) will be there for the 14th consecutive year well-positioned in their familiar location at the southern most end of Collins Avenue."

Riviera’s newest models making their Miami debut will include the striking new Riviera 50 Enclosed Flybridge and Belize 54 Daybridge. These beautiful craft will head up an impressive display of their latest and most popular designs, including the 43 Open Flybridge, 50 Enclosed Flybridge, 53 Enclosed Flybridge, 445 SUV, 565 SUV, 5000 Sport Yacht, Belize 54 Daybridge and Belize 54 Sedan.

The 50 is an entirely new Riviera from the keel up and from the moment you step onboard you will sense this is a new approach from Riviera – she’s simply bristling with surprises and innovation. There’s plenty of cockpit storage, tender storage on the boarding platform, increased side deck access and a large aft L-shaped lounge that runs the width of the flybridge.

Ample seating in both the cockpit and saloon accommodates 10 people dining or simply relaxing. Adding to it all, the huge flybridge is truly the ultimate skylounge for relaxed socialising and extended cruising.

Below decks three huge, comfortable staterooms are great for overnighting.  While standard power is the new generation and fuel-efficient twin Cummins QSC Zeus 600 pod drives – thrill seekers may prefer the optional propulsion upgrade to the Volvo Penta IPS 800 or IPS 950 pod drives.

London manufacturers Fairline Boats will join hundreds of yacht builders from around the world in transforming Collins Avenue into a multi-million dollar showcase. Their impressive selection of  six stunning Squadron and Targa cruisers will include the spectacular new Targa 48 OPEN  making her US show debut.

Perfectly suited for the Miami boating scene, the Targa 48 OPEN is an elegantly appointed two cabin, double en-suite model geared towards sociable alfresco entertaining inside and out. She offers an electric canvas roof, as well as a garage for optional jet tender and submersible bathing platform.

The Targa 48 OPEN is powered by Volvo Penta IPS matched to a dynamic new hull designed specifically for the range ensuring the highest levels of quality and performance. In addition there’s a considerable weight reduction, exceptional engineering and excellent sea-keeping – everything you would expect from a Fairline.

Visitors will also be able board the powerful and luxurious Targa 62GT - with beautifully designed spaces for sun-worshippers and elegant entertainment areas.
