BOATING WORLD'S LUCKY STRIKE MARLIN FISHING OFF THE RIVIERA 33

17 Dec 2010

Boating World’s Durban sales manager Zane Dresner had the most exciting 30 minutes of his life recently - catching his first Marlin in about 500m deep waters north of Richards Bay.

Fishing off a Riviera 33 during the filming of a new Super Sport Fishing series, Zane was “elated beyond belief” when a Black Marlin took his Dorado-coloured Kona lure and the action-packed fight was on!

Proud Riviera owner of “Predator” Christo Bornman and Lowrance SA’s Sales Director Silan Naicker - cheered him on until finally the 58.5kg beauty was hauled aboard, photographed and then released safely back in the water to live for another day.

On the Saturday the crew went out again and after seven strikes landed two striped Marlin of around 58kg and 45kg respectively. These were also successfully released.

Anglers on a Riviera 37 fishing in the vicinity also landed a Black Marlin on Saturday.

Look out for this Riviera fishing action on TV in the series "Go Fish with Lowrance" to be aired around popular fishing shows over the next six month.
