The best boat for southern hemisphere summers

15 Nov 2017

Summer is here in the southern hemisphere and it’s time for long lazy days spent enjoying the season with the wind in your hair. This summer consider widening your horizons with whats being favoured as the catamaran of the year – the Fountaine Pajot MY44.

2017 has been a great year for Fountaine Pajot with the vessel recently selected for the 2018 European Boat of the Year awards. After being formally unveiled at the Dusseldorf Boat Show in January 2017, the My44 quickly became a firm favourite in the European and Asian boating scenes this season and stands out as one of the best in the mid-sized catamaran range. After being nominated twice for the Best Flybridge Yacht and Best Multihull Motoryacht at the Asia Boating Awards, the MY44 won the category of Best Multihull Motoryacht at this year’s show.

This unique catamaran features stunning, sophisticated interior designs courtesy of Perangelo Andreani and a gorgeous hull designed by Daniel Andrieu to maximise stability and safety. The MY44 features an unprecedented amount of living space with a 20 metre saloon and a spacious 15 metre master suite but it without doubt the massive 12 metre flybridge area that steals the show.

The exquisite design is also complimented by extraordinary offshore performance and outstanding fuel economy while additional features like the hydraulic gangway and dinghy crane make the boating experience a pure pleasure.

Designing and building boats since 1976, the MY44 is a stunning example of this French yacht manufacturer’s attention to detail and gorgeous craftsmanship and as the African agent for Fountaine Pajot, the team at Boating World can’t wait to welcome her to the waters of the Southern Hemisphere.
