Azimut launch International Yacht Design Competition

Can you sea the future?

Azimut Yachts announces a worldwide competition that supports the future of design by calling on international students and graduates to design a new day cruiser to be launched under the brands Atlantis Collection.

This highly innovative project forms part of Azimut’s 50 year anniversary celebrations and includes a showcase of an Azimut yacht in New York’s Times Square as a design installation, in partnership with Design Pavilion celebrating NYCxDesign (May 10th - 22nd 2019).

The competition winner will receive an all-expenses paid three month internship at Azimut|Benetti headquarters in Avigliana, Italy.

The Creative

For this new concept boat, designers are requested to propose one of the four below options:

1. External lines of a 10 mt boat with in-board engines, capable to interpret Azimut’s sporting vocation and respect its stylistic DNA.

2. Layout of habitable areas with open and multifunctional spaces, which may be transformed according to the different moments of the life on board: navigation, relax, meals.

3. Under-deck interiors to be enjoyed during the day as a living room or a dining area and convertible at night into a two-person suite with adjoining small bathroom.

4.  Innovative, exclusive and luxurious micro-design details dedicated to on-board comfort (objects, seats, ergonomic sundecks and combined lighting), as well as integrated roofing systems for sun protection. Control panel with exclusive steering wheel.

The use of sustainable materials will be considered a valuable plus for participants.
