Need a break? How about planning a trip to KZN on the first weekend of the “July” School holidays - to visit the Durban Boat Show taking place at Durban Marina at the Yacht Mole (June 22nd - 24th).

This year there’ll be boats in and around the moorings, a huge marquee on the new grassed area across from Cafe Fish, on-site catering along the boardwalk and an extended Lifestyle section, with attractions for the whole family.

Durban will be at its balmy best - clear days, bright sunshine and gentle breezes - a wonderful time for looking over everything that's new in the exciting world of boating. Enjoy the festive atmosphere with holiday makers, tourists and families making the best of the chance to relax and dream.

Show times are between 9.30am and 5.00pm daily.

This is a great opportunity to visit Boating World’s stand on-the-water where you can see the magnificent Riviera 37 and the Airberth Lift System on show.

The luxurious multi-purpose Riviera 37 is the answer to every angler’s dream of heading off to find those exotic far-off destinations. Perfect weather, unending food and refreshments and teeming game fish just waiting to take the bait – can become reality in this fishing machine.

Or perhaps cruising the open seas with family and friends is your preference for leisure time fun – enjoying the warm sun and the wind blowing your hair back as you cut through the waves to your weekend destination.

This 13.9 m Sport Fisher with her teak-laid decks offers luxury leisure with fishability and enough power to suit both needs. Very economical twin diesel Volvo D6 (370 HP) engines with four-blade propellers can easily handle rough conditions should they crop up and the fuel capacity of 1225 litres means hours of long distance boating pleasure.

Every convenience is right at one’s finger tips with dual controls in the plush saloon and on the flybridge where the pilot and four companions can enjoy the comfortable seating with a commanding view over the water.

The large cockpit which is wider than usual easily accommodates a fighting chair and is ideal for entertaining and extra protection at sea.  Outriggers, centre rigger, fish finding equipment, radar, live bait well, bow thruster motor – have also been fitted.

Drinks and snacks are prepared in the fully-equipped galley just below the saloon and four to six family members or friends can spend the night on board in absolute comfort and style – complete with air conditioning and great sound in the saloon, cockpit and flybridge.

Demonstrations will also take place throughout the weekend of the Airberth Boat Lift System - a creative storage option for boaters looking to simplify their lives. This versatile, non-corrosive lift system only takes about three minutes to raise a boat out of the water, eliminating the need for a crane or trailering and giving easy access to the hull.

This is a perfect way to eliminate towing, launching, recovery and endless anti-fouling. This amazing unit is easily transportable and made of high density polyethylene plastic (designed to last 50-plus years) with no submerged metal parts.

The support cradles fit most monohull craft, though other shapes have been accommodated and the fibreglass-hull friendly Airberth can accommodate boats of up to 10 tons. This great mooring option can be used next to a jetty or even out in the ocean.

Come and meet Derrick and the Boating World team at the show and they will be happy show you these and many other imported and locally-manufactured craft.
