BOATING WORLD MEETS CHESTER WILLIAMS
26 Jul 2012
Whether they are out boating or just having fun in the mother city, Boating World’s Derrick and Suzanne Levy meet all sorts of interesting people. And Father’s Day proved no exception this year.
They decided to join a whole crowd of guests at the luxurious One & Only hotel in Cape Town for a fascinating afternoon of Bikes, Beers & Boks. Grandfathers, dads, uncles and sons enjoyed the exciting eyeful of the latest BMW On-Off Road Bikes, Lamborghini’s and Bentleys on display and of course the sumptuous meals were equally as popular.
Richard Ceasar, set the relaxed tone for this special day - entertaining the visitors with his classic soul and jazz favourites, during the lavish lunch.
“Afternoon tea” was a festive affair at the Vista Bar and Lounge, well watered by loads of beer – greatly enhancing the mood as the enthusiastic guests watched the iconic World Cup rugby game - where South Africa inspired the nation with that unforgettable and spectacular victory.
Adding to the excitement after this trip down memory lane was the prospect of meeting former Springbok rugby player Chester Williams, who graciously took the time to chat to the many enthusiasts.
Derrick, who usually spends his free time on the water on board a luxurious Riviera Sports Fisher or Fairline cruiser, says while it was a different way to spend an afternoon - it certainly was one to remember and a great privilege to meet one of the country’s well-respected sportsmen.
