Cape boaters – you now have a chance to get up-to-speed with current industry trends and what’s new and exciting for the coming summer season.

The 12th Cape Town International Boat Show (October 12th -14th) promises to be an action-packed, upmarket event featuring spectacular power boats and sailing yachts both on the water at the V & A waterfront and at the Cape Town ICC. And there’ll also be excellent displays of services, boating toys, technical equipment and outdoor gear.

Boating World will again have a stand on-the-water showing off a selection of their popular imported options. Look out for their luxurious Fairline’s – the sexy and sporty Targa 38 and Flybridge Squadron 42 – perfect for entertaining and long distance cruising offshore on languid summer days. These stunning craft boast the latest in mod cons, the most sophisticated electronic equipment, fantastically comfortable accommodation with loads of space for family and friends.

Speedsters will love the lightning-fast sporty and cuddy 26 Formula Fastech being showcased on the revolutionary Airberth lift system. This versatile, non-corrosive Airberth storage system is the easiest way to store your boat on the water but out the water next to a jetty or even in open water. It only takes about three minutes to raise a boat out of the water, giving easy access to the hull for cleaning or repairs and eliminating the need for anti-fouling. Live demonstrations of the Airberth will take place at their stand every day.

Big game anglers will marvel at the Riviera 43 Offshore Express. While she’s the ultimate luxury entertainer - she also miraculously morphs into a sport fisherman’s dream boat. At 49’4 with a 4.7m beam and hyge deck cockpit she has more than enough space to accommodate those prepared to go the distance far offshore where the big fish hide out in the deep – powered by twin Volvo D6 Diesels with IPS drive using a joystick at the helm which allows the easiest maneuvering in tight spots back at the moorings.

This year the CTIBS will host the biggest indoor wakeboarding competition South Africa has ever staged. This exciting entertainment will be thrilling to watch as SA’s top Wake boarders compete in a unique pool set-up with life-saving demo’s, liferaft deployment and many more water related demonstrations. View the latest Malibu Wake Setter with full Blown sound system on the Boating International stand at the CTICC.

Also on the Boating International stand will be the New Enclosed Cabin high quality Ace Glider 750 Fishing Cat. Also on display in the Hall of the CTICC will be Lowrance that will be displaying all their high quality equipment. Club Marine Insurance stand will also be in the CTICC if you want to upgrade or take out insurance at Boat Show price.

Interesting talks and demos are planned for the weekend - covering all aspects of boating and the Fishing Village at the CTICC will host a competition where show goers can cast their lines to win prizes including fishing rods, tackle and lures.

The show starts daily at 10am and closes at 6pm (Friday and Saturday) and 10am to 5pm Sunday 14th. Adults pay R80 a ticket (inclusive of transport and entry to Boat Show related events) - children are free. Yacht and Boat Club members receive a 50% discount on presentation of a valid membership card.
