Representing South Africa internationally in water-ski racing, winning the Italian Grand Prix on Lake Como, Derrick still holds the world record of 500km and he has represented the country in barefoot skiing and boat racing.

He is a qualified skipper for motor yachts under one hundred tons, invaluable as yacht importer and broker of pre-owned cruisers to mega yachts.
